Mother’s Day is a week away and it got me thinking. I’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day as a mom for the first time this year. My own mother had passed away for 20 years now but I still remember clearly what she has taught me.

Here is what I have learned from her:

  • Never rely on another person. Be responsible for yourself.
  • How to cook rice, ginger wine chicken, sliced fish soup, thunder tea rice and other chinese recipes.
  • Stand up straight. It is good for one’s posture.
  • If you can, take afternoon nap.
  • Games like Scrabble, card games, crosswords are good for our mind.
  • Stay cool and calm in every situation.
  • Drinks lots of water for good complexion.
  • Empathise by putting myself in others shoes.
  • Always be punctual.
  • Always have some money in savings.
  • Trust my instinct.
  • No matter what happens, we are still a family. Family is priority.

Please share what has your mom taught you. I’d love to hear their words of wisdom.
Happy Mother’s Day.
