I have selective memories. I can remember an American Idol finalist’s name from 4 seasons ago but I can’t recall the name of friend of a friend I met last night. It is terrible, and my memory seems to have failed me more often these days. However, I could remember sequence of events very well. Show me a photo I am in, and I can tell you exactly where we were, what happened right before and after the photo was taken, etc. And that is exactly why I am starting a new linky series called Flashback Friday, where we could share some old photos and memories, simply dust off your old blog posts and redirect some traffic there.

This week I am sharing a photo taken back in 2007 at The Cellar, Hunter Valley. We were celebrating my birthday early with another couple, Fong Yee and Chris. We had driven up to Hunter Valley on the eve of Australia Day right after work. We stayed at a friend’s holiday home right next to the vineyard. The only shops that were opened when we arrived around 9pm was KFC, so we had instant noodle with fried chicken that very first night. After which, we played texas holdem until we were too drunk and sleepy to continue.
I remember food at The Cellar was particularly good. Substantial servings, interesting menu and reasonably priced.  We had a walk around the area and took some silly bollywood styled photos prior to dinner. We shot this photo with my Canon Ixus point and shoot. I still remember we used a wine glass as tripod to hold the camera still. Because of the low lighting in the restaurant, most of our photos turned out blurry, except this one.
