In my recent days of being a full time stay-at-home mom, I’ve been dining out quite a lot. More specifically dining out with my 16 months old toddler. Sometimes we are alone, but most times I meet fellow mummies for lunch/brunch/tea. Since I’m not a food blogger (I’d love to be one but I can’t seem to come up with many adjectives to describe food), I’ll write about how child friendly a restaurant/cafe is instead.

So last week I went to Wild Honey, Scotts Square for brunch with my girlfriends and of course, my darling Lauren tagged along too. I was first to arrive. I was shown to the table within seconds. I had to leave my stroller outside the cafe, as there is little room inside to park. It is a busy place, so be sure to make reservation. I placed my drink order and the maitre’d informed me that he will bring out the child cutlery set for Lauren.

What came within 2 minutes later was a pleasant surprise. Besides the kid’s cutlery set and plastic cup, he also brought a toasted brioche for Lauren to munch on. Now this is what I call initiative and service beyond expectation.

As mentioned earlier, the place was busy. Most tables were taken up, so there was a chatter buzz in the restaurant, so even when Lauren made a fuss, no one seemed to notice – which is another plus.

Norwegian – Poached eggs, smoked salmon, asparagus, avocado on toasted wholemeal brioche $26++

Food wise, there is a huge all day breakfast selection and there is a kids menu too. The serving size of the Norwegian that I ordered was big enough that I could share with Lauren and still feel full afterwards.

Kids friendly rating – 4/5
The only letdown was that I wasn’t allowed to change the poached to scrambled eggs, even after explaining that I can’t eat half-cooked eggs because I’m pregnant. Otherwise, it would have been perfect.
