I don’t usually venture into Singapore CBD with a toddler in tow. Amongst a sea of well dressed professionals, it is an odd sight of a pregnant mother pushing her young toddler in the stroller during the lunch hour rush. Although most of my fellow mommy friends are no longer working, I still have one girlfriend who works downtown. We didn’t want her to miss out on our bi-monthly lunch and gossips, so we decided to meet at Cook & Brew at The Westin.

The sign in the elevator shows Cook & Brew on the 32nd floor. But if you are taking a stroller or young children, take the lift straight up to 33rd floor. This way you can avoid walking up the expansive stairs to the gastro-bar.
When we arrived at 12 noon, the place was rather quite with only one or two tables occupied. This suited me well, as Lauren had fallen asleep at that point. There were plenty of room to park the stroller right next to our table, or any other table, as they are positioned quite far apart.
Service was swift and food arrived quickly after we placed our orders. My veal schnitzel was so-so but the Korean styled fried chicken my friend ordered was much better. Apparently the burger was good too.

Lauren woke up an hour later. She was happy to chow down on the rest of my veal, and proceeded to play by the side of our table. The restaurant had filled out by then. All the tables were taken by the suits type, but no one seems to mind a young child being there although Lauren did make a fuss every now and then.
All in all, we had a pleasant lunch with an amazing view of Marina Bay.

I’m not sure how to rate this one. On one hand, it was perfectly fine for me to bring Lauren there. On the other, the interior and mood of the place is very ‘grown-up’.  I would imagine the dining experience would be better, sans kids.

P.S: What about Wild Honey Scott Square?
