For the past 2 months, I’ve been testing out Redoxy; an anti-aging, anti-oxidation, hydrating, collagen boosting, rejuvenating, brightening, firming and scar healing serum. The benefits listed in the pamphlet is quite a mouthful, isn’t it? I’m supposed to apply it on problem areas on my face twice a day. I did it religiously for the first 2 weeks, then it became more of a scattergun approach. Now I only apply once at night.

About Redoxy

beauty blogger singapore

According to their website :

Redoxy specifically designed proprietary blend infused with micro- mineralized nutrient technology (micro-cluster) for women and men to help their skin stay supple and fresh-looking.

Redoxy blended with micro-clusters allow these nutrients to penetrate deeply and nourish the cell lining. Micro-clustered technology also reduces the surface tension of Redoxy, this increases the absorption of nutrients into the collagen matrix of the skin.

Who should take Redoxy?
 Age 25 and above
  Coffee drinker
  Under pressure
  Always stay up late
  Alcoholic beverage drinker
  Frequent traveller
  Smoking
  Working on shift
  Long hours in air-conditioned environment
  Constantly exposes to UV rays

First impression

Out of the criteria listed above, I tick 4 boxes; I am waaaaay above 25, stay up late, work on shift (midnight feeding counts as shift right?) and my house air-conditioning is on 24-7.

Redoxy comes with a dropper, which I love as I can easily gauge the amount I need without contaminating the rest of the bottle, by having to dip my fingers in it. It has a pleasant smell that isn’t overpowering.

The serum itself is quite light, almost watery. It takes a few seconds of massaging for it to fully absorb, but I don’t mind that. It feels light on my skin, without any trace of greasiness. So I imagine it would be great for someone with oily or combination skin type. Yours truly has dry skin.

I also looked up their Facebook page and found these testimonial photos:

Now it has just become more interesting, isn’t it? I like the fact that it can be used on children’s skin too. I was eager to find out if my skin would improve so much too. So I started documenting my progress by taking bi-weekly photos. Photos speak a thousand words, doesn’t it?

Warning: Images with me without make-up in high definition may be frightening. Do a quick scroll to the bottom of the post if you want to skip it. All photos are taken in natural lighting, i.e. the sun by standing next to my window and unedited.

Day 1: Problems I wish to eliminate: Under eyes dark circles, dark scar on right cheekbone from oil spatter burn, fine frown lines in between brows (not very visible on photo) and uneven skin tone. I also want to prevent the age lines on either sides of my nose from deepening.
After 2 weeks: All I did for 2 weeks was washing my face with my regular cleanser and applying Redoxy. Nothing else. My skin felt tight after application. I didn’t see any improvement from day to day but when I compared this photo to Day 1, I was surprised to see a more balance skin tone, slightly lighter under eyes dark circles and scar.
I was also given a supplement called Medigold, which has high antioxidant, cardiovascular and anti-ageing benefits but I didn’t take it because I was breastfeeding.

After 4 weeks: I started taking Medigold every morning after getting clearance from my ob-gyn. I’m not sure if the supplement helps in anyway because I believe it takes a little longer to feel any difference with things that is supposed to work from within our bodies.
Medigold comes in small sachets of powder which I drink with a cup of water. The taste isn’t too bad, it is like Ribena/grape juice without the sweetness.

I’ve also added moisturiser into my routine after each Redoxy application, to combat the feeling of dryness. My overall skin tone is a lot brighter now, while under eyes dark circle and scar remain unchanged since week 2. I have been sleeping late and waking up for night feeding though.

Overall Verdict

Today, after 2 months: I didn’t realise the oil burn scar on my right cheek bone has lightened until I put these two photos side by side. However, I’m sad to report my under eyes dark circles had not improved much since week 2. I should just give up hope that it would go away completely. No obvious changes on my frown lines and age lines either. Anyway, I look a lot fairer in the ‘After’ photo too which I did not expect. So I guess my overall verdict is – Nice! Give it a try if you have any scars to lightened or uneven skin tones.

Overall Value

Redoxy comes a little dearer than serums found at pharmacies – at S$115 a bottle, but it is cheaper than beauty counter brands. Most importantly, it works! Small bottle but it lasted more than 2 months, albeit I’ve been using it on and off for the last month. The ingredient list shows that it is jam-packed with goodies, including milk peptide, hyaluronic acid, allantoin, salmon peptide, alpha-lipoic acid, collagen, Vitamin C, kojic acid and Vitamin E.
It costs the same for a box of Medigold too, S$115. There are 30 small sachets in a box that is supposed to last for a month if you consume it once a day. So it is a little under $4 per day. If your diet is lack of fruits and vegetables, this could be your solution to pack in the antioxidant, vitamins and minerals.
