I used to think getting wrinkles is the number 1 sign of aging. But now that I’m actually getting older and thus, have more older friends, I noticed lots of people have dark patches on their faces; some caused by pregnancy hormones and that never really faded properly, some caused by sun damage, others by acne. And a recent study shows that discolouration or pigmentation is the number 1 perceivable sign of aging, ahead of wrinkles and loss of firmness.

And yes, pigmentation plagued me as I’ve aged as well.

If you are troubled by discolouration or hyperpigmentation, you might want to give Palmer’s White and Even range a try. The range offers quite a comprehensive skin, hand and body care solution. Its unique skin tone correcting formulation is made with an advanced blend of potent yet gentle ingredients that reduce hyperpigmentation. The range is affordable and suitable for all skin types.

Read on for my review on 3 products from the range, namely the White & Even Dark Spot Corrector, White & Even Dark Circle Correcting Eye Treatment and White & Even CBB Cream.

 Palmer’s White & Even Dark Spot Corrector | $29.90/30ml

This is the first product I dived into when it arrived at my doorstep. You see, I’ve been looking high and low for a solution to these pigmentation on my cheeks. I’ve talked about it many times on the blog. I tried many products and while they may have lightened, they didn’t totally disappear. I wish this White & Even Dark Spot Corrector could be the answer to my prayer.

Combining Synovea, an ingredient found to be as effective as lightening the skin as *Hydroquinone 2%, with Vitamin C and Songyi Mushroom, a Japanese mushroom extract known for its pigment-perfecting properties, this lotion works by lightening age spots, smoothing marks and scars, restoring skin’s luminosity and naturally brightening the skin.

Although not all pigmentation are erased, but the darker spots on my cheek bones have obviously lightened. I’m so pleased when I put these 2 photos side by side to see the difference it made in only 2 weeks.

Palmer’s White & Even Dark Circle Correcting Eye Treatment | $22.90/15ml

I feel like the people at Palmer’s designed the range with me in mind. Besides pigmentation, my second biggest skin problem is my dark eye circles.

This eye treatment promises to deliver 5 results with 1 application. It brightens under eyes, reduces puffiness, firms and lifts, and targets dark circles and under eyes shadows.

You apply the cream directly onto your skin using the cool, depuffing metal applicator. See how the cream looks all sparkly? It is the sheer luminizing veil that brightens the under eye areas instantly. Dark circles begone!

Palmer’s White & Even CBB Cream (Fair/Light) | $22.90/30ml

Of course, all the creams in the world won’t work against pigmentation if we continue to go out into the sun without sunscreen protection.

So White & Even CBB Cream is great for us – busy moms who wants a convenient product that targets discolouration and spots while providing lightweight coverage to hide imperfection and contains SPF 15 protection from the sun.

I like how a little goes a long way with this CBB cream. It reduces redness, improving radiance and can be used alone or as primer for makeup. I’ve been using this every day. It is non-greasy and stay on all day long. Of course if you need more protection, you can always reapply throughout the day. It comes in a handy size to fit your handbag.

Palmer’s White & Even range can be found at Watsons, Guardian, BHG, Robinsons, John Little, Essentials Pharmacy, Nishino Pharmacy, all leading pharmacies, departmental and cosmetics stores.

*Hydroquinone is a topical treatment to reduce discolouration and only available with doctor prescription. Trust me, I tried to buy over the counter in a moment of desperation but was turned away.
