How To Tell It’s Time For A New Shower

HOME

Our showers have been a lifesaver in the modern-day world. Having hot running water available to us at the click of the button is a huge blessing that often gets taken for granted. We jump in the shower on a daily basis so when it starts to break down, we realise the importance of it.

There are some signs you can look out for before it even gets to that stage, however. To avoid it from completely breaking down, this article will list some of those signs.  These signs will show that the shower will need replacing soon.

If you are sure you are in need of a new unit, you can discover a wide shower selection at Trading Depot.

Red Flags Your Shower Is Breaking Down

1. Drips

Having a consistent drip from your shower head or anywhere in the unit is a clear warning sign it’s had its day. More often than not, the drip stars from the shower head which mean the head only can be replaced. However, sometimes the head isn’t the cause of the leak and a deeper issue is going on.

This can be tired washer rings or faulty supply valves. If this is the case, they will need to be replaced which can be done without spending too much money. This is why it’s a good idea to get a plumber to investigate before you buy anything or do any work.

2. The water pressure will change

Have you noticed a drop in the pressure recently when you’ve been taking a shower? This is a big sign many people often miss as they think nothing of it. Instead, a change in the water pressure can signify problems.

If it’s getting weaker or even changing from strong to weak, there will need to be a replacement. Check to see if the shower head is screwed on tightly enough as this can be an issue. If it’s not loose then there is a good chance the shower will need to be replaced.

3. Buildups

Over time, sediment and mould accumulate then stops the shower from working efficiently. This can usually because the water is hard in the local area you live in or comes chemically treated. These chemicals make it safe for us to drink but they build up on the shower filter over time.

You can normally see this on the outside of the shower head which starts to get discoloured and build up materials. Another issue could be from the build-up of mould from the hard water. Whenever you see black mould around the shower, it’s crucial to change it immediately as it can be damaging to the body.

These are all key signs that your shower will need replacing as soon as possible. The quicker you replace it, the healthier and easier it will be to use. In addition, you will save yourself money in the long run instead of going down the repair route.
