School holidays are upon us and if you’re like me, you’re probably looking for ways to get your family out of the house. Now that school is out and my book launch party is done and dusted, it’s time for some family fun. So I’m excited to tell you about an event that my whole family loved and it’s going on at HarbourFront Centre right now!

World-Class Performers

Load your family and friends into the car everyone, Singapore’s first slackline event in a mall is going on at HarbourFront Centre from June 1st through June 17^th (excluding June 11th). This is an indoor event including a performance by world-class Slackline artistes. The best part? It’s free to watch the performance, just show up and be entertained.

Some of the performers who will be at Harbourfront Centre include Carlos Neto and Filip Oleksik. They’ll be doing 180 and 360 degree jumps in mid-air, double knee drop turns and backflip dismounts. If you have no idea what these moves might look like, let me tell you – it’s worth finding out.

I was in awe watching Filip walk and perform stunts on the slackline 7 meters above-ground. My photos aren’t doing any justice to these performers. You have to watch them for yourself!

What better to do on a rainy day (or any day for that matter) than get entertained FOR FREE by world-class slackline performers? I can’t think of anything 😉

Each professional slackline performance is about thirty minutes and it includes time for the audience to try out the slack lines for themselves. And yes, kids can take part too!

Try Slacklining to Win Shopping Vouchers

If sitting on the sidelines isn’t really your thing, you can take part in the Slackline Dash. It’s not just bragging rights that you’ll earn either if you’re one of the top five fastest participants in the Slackline dash in your category you could win up to $2,800 worth of shopping vouchers.

I had a go, it certainly isn’t easy but it can be done! It really quite fun too!

Oh, and a leaderboard will feature the fastest participants and their timing, so no one will forget that you are the slackline dash master. If you do happen to get knocked off the leaderboard, no worries, you can spend again for another chance at knocking the competition off the board. 

You’ll need to spend a minimum of $30 to participate in the dash, but with the possibility of a $2,800 shopping spree, this investment is definitely worth it.

Third Prize – $100 in vouchers

Fourth and Fifth Prize – $50 in vouchers

Lucky Draw

Maybe the idea of dashing across a slackline makes you nervous, and if that’s the case, you can participate in the Lucky Draw. With a minimum spend of $50, you’ll get the chance to win an OSIM massage chair worth up to $10,000.

If you want to participate in the Lucky Draw, head over to HarbourFront Centre between June 1st and July 8th with your receipts to enter. If you are a Friends of HFC, you automatically get double chances!

Not only did I enjoy watching the world-class performers and then cheering on the slackline dashers, but my kids had a blast too. I probably saw every age group imaginable at this event because there’s something for everyone.
