6 Incredible Home Décor Hacks For Every Busy Woman Out There

HOME, LIFESTYLE

Women, especially those with an office job, will know the struggle of making their home look beautiful in everyday life. Being a busy woman is not easy. If you are a mom, you have to look after your kids all day long and clean their mess. If you are a working woman, you have to juggle between your office job and house duties. Even if you are just a housewife, that doesn’t mean that you have any lesser tasks. In short, being a homemaker is not easy.

Every home deserves to be appropriately decorated. The key to a beautiful looking house is to keep it tidy and know a few nifty décor tips such as hidden storage spaces, high-tension rods for curtains etc. With little time and attention, you can elevate the look of your house.
So how do you take out time from your busy schedule and manage to make your home beautiful? Lucky you, there are several home hacks that will make any busy women’s life easier.

1. Buy a Thick Rug

Many people underestimate the value of a good rug. I prefer rugs over wall-to-wall carpeting because rugs can be moved easily. When you need to wash/dry clean them, it is not a hassle. With carpets, you have to make sure they stick to the ground with glue. Not to mention all the dirt that gets accumulated under the carpet.

With rugs, it will be easy for you to manage the room. You can clean the floors quickly. In the case of carpets, children can create a mess, and you cannot wash it every month. A thick rug will keep your children safe, warm, and comfortable. Because of the thickness, the rug can provide enough padding to help them avoid unnecessary injuries, especially if they are toddlers. A Marrakesh Shag Rug is a good option if you want a rug for your living room.

2. Mirrors

Want your house to look bright and spacious in no time? Buy mirrors! Adding mirrors in your entrance hall or entryway is a neat trick because those areas are pretty small and mirrors can fix that.

Mirrors also brighten up any place because they reflect the light. If you want to take it one step ahead, hang a mirror behind a lamp. It would make your room appear bigger and brighter!

You can get creative with the mirrors in your living room. Use a rope to hang the mirror on your living-room wall. You can utilize this idea for the bathrooms as well. If you want to use a traditional mirror in your bathroom without any rope, framing it would be a good idea. You will be able to give your place a chic makeover.

3. Add Lots of Storage Spaces

When I moved into my new house, I didn’t realised how messy it would get without any storage space. When there are children in the house, they can create a mess the moment you tidy up your room. It is impossible to keep stacking the toys in an orderly manner when you have to do it thrice a day. The best solution for this is to have storage spaces.

If your house doesn’t have inbuilt storage space, you can get them yourself. The advantage of storage spaces in every room is that you can throw all the toys and unnecessary items in it and your guests won’t have to see all the clutter. Your storage space should look decent, so it adds to the décor of the room.

4. With Paint and Wall Coverings

Another trick is to paint the walls of a room partially, preferably the bottom part, and leave the top portion blank. Use the color of your lower wall to pint your ceiling too as this will make the room appear higher. It is a simple trick handy for those who are living in houses with low ceilings.

If you want your room to look a certain way, painting the walls is an easier way. It also doesn’t take much time to repaint the walls. If you want the room to be light and breezy, white or pastel colors will be better. If you want a high-end look for the room, go for a darker shade. The color of your walls should match with the theme of the room at the end.

You don’t have to bring in any childish colors just because you have children in your house. Explore all your options within your comfort zone. Vibrant color for your children’s room should give a lively look and make the rooms look less uptight and precious.

5. Wall Art

Think of the walls in your house as your canvas. Whatever you put on these walls will beautify your house. For example, choose wall art carefully because it will represent your style.

These days if you want your house to look trendy, you should choose wall hangings that are contemporary. Off-white and dark shades create a cozy feeling. When you blend those colors with soft natural colors with folklore-style art, you achieve the kinship look.

Hang your artwork with cables if you don’t want to poke holes in your wall. It will also give a subtle industrial twist to the décor.

6. Less Is Always More

If you live your life with this mantra, half of your life problem will vanish. The minimalist approach towards house décor is a huge thing, and it best works for busy mums. They don’t have to keep track of all the junk their children are playing with and that saves their time.

The way to de-stress is by de-cluttering your space. Too many items on your coffee table or too many art pieces on walls make your space feel cramped. Settle for a few statement pieces, and you will achieve a modern look.

Just because you are a busy woman, you don’t have to live in a plain-looking house. Use these home décor hacks and enhance the overall look of your home!
