*This post is reblogged from my old personal blog, written 2 years ago.

There I was sitting down in front of the television watching a rerun of American Idol, when it suddenly hit me that I’m thirty-something this year, almost mid-life and I didn’t have a bucket list. How I got from Idol to bucket list, I don’t even know. That was yesterday afternoon.

I am sure most of you already know what a bucket list is, but for those that don’t, it is a list of things that you want to accomplish or experience before you die. I’ve decided to publish mine so there is more accountability to it and I have no excuse but to execute them when I get the chance. So now almost 24 hours later, here is my ‘Bucket List’:

1. Become a mother. – Done!

5. Find my childhood best friend and reconnect – she used to live downstairs from our place.
6. Learn to play one song on a guitar.
7. Sing and play guitar at the same time – just one song will do.
8. Visit Rome.
9. Visit Barcelona.
10. Live in France for at least one month.
11. Ride in a helicopter.
12. Go on a round-the-world trip.
13. Spend New Year at New York Times Square.
14. Build a kick ass walk-in wardrobe in my future house.
15. Go on a girls’ trip with my sister. – Done! Taipei baby!
16. Run a half marathon.
17. Visit the pyramids in Egypt.
18. Catch a show in Broadway.
19. Hang glide.
20. Travel to North and South America.
21. Take my future kids, niece and nephew to Disneyland.
22. Sponsor a child in foreign country.
23. Learn to cook Hakka cuisine that my mum and grandma used to make.-In progress.
24. Learn to cook all those yummy food that my mother-in-law makes.
25. Compile these recipes into a cookbook to be handed down to the next generation.

The thing with bucket list is it doesn’t have to be over ambitious. I had great fun coming up with this list, it allowed me to dream a little. Most of it are selfish, self-serving but who cares? It is my list and so should yours too. If we don’t dream for ourselves, who would?

Anyway, I’ll continue to add to this list when inspiration strikes. Hope this inspires you to start your own Bucket List. Please share and inspire each other, shall we?
