Esemtan: I Found A Relief For My Dry Skin

ADVERTORIAL, LIFESTYLE, SELF CARE | 4 comments

I used to think the only way to combat dry skin is by applying body lotion. As a result, I have tubs and tubs of body lotion, creams and oils. You name it, I’ve probably tried it.

Turns out, I’m not alone. Almost a million people in Singapore suffer dry and itchy skin. While we try to combat further moisture loss by applying hydrating lotion, what we should have done instead is replacing ordinary harsh soap or body wash that strips away our skin’s natural protection.

I was introduced to Esemtan a few weeks ago. Their skin care range is great for people with dry skin, yet gentle enough for sensitive skin, babies and elderly.

Esemtan Wash Lotion $19.75/500ml, $35.30/1L

Esemtan Wash Lotion is a mild soap-free wash lotion that can be used for facial, body and hair. It has low 5.0 pH balance and contains a protective moisturiser and oil restoring substances that makes everyday use possible. After a shower with Esemtan Wash lotion, my skin feels thoroughly clean without feeling tight.

You know how some mild products don’t have any foam/lather? I’m the kind of person who loves a good lather, and Esemtan doesn’t disappoint. You probably can’t tell from the packaging, but Esemtan Wash Lotion smells pretty good too.

I think people with skin problems like eczema and itchy skin would find Esemtan most beneficial. It contains Allantoin that helps to relieve skin irritation and accelerate cell regeneration. It is effective yet gentle enough that it doesn’t sting your eyes.

I read that this product from Germany also cleanses the bathroom as we rinse away the wash lotion. Talk about killing two birds with one stone. No wonder it is the choice wash lotion for Singapore’s healthcare professionals.

Esemtan Skin Balm $20/500ml

My aunt once told me the best time to apply body lotion is right after a bath because there’s still some water on our skin. Thus it helps in sealing in the moisture. I believe her because at 50 years old, she is often mistaken for being in her late 30s.

This is why I’m glad to try Esemtan Skin Balm. It has an oil-in water emulsion that permeates deeply into the skin. I like how it sinks into the skin with just a few rubs and doesn’t have a greasy residue. My skin feels soft and protected.

Esemtan Skin Balm has been dermatologically tested to reduce skin irritation*. It has a light mild scent that’s rather pleasant.

Esemtan Cleansing Foam $21.50/500ml

So what is a cleansing foam? I wondered the same when I received the product. Esemtan Cleansing Foam cleans dirty skin gently, deodorises and reduces germs. It is a practical solution for bedridden and incontinent patients.
To use, shake the can thoroughly. Press the nozzle downwards and spray foam onto skin areas to be cleaned from approximately 20cm. Leave it on for a while and wipe clean with disposable cloths.
Schulke recommend this for use on body and perineal areas. It is suitable for young children above the age of 3.
Esemtan range of products are manufactured by Schulke & Mayr, a pharmaceutical company with over 125 years experience in protecting people against infections and contaminations.
You can purchase Esemtan at Guardian, Unity, Watsons, independent pharmacies (Pink Beauty, Beauty Essential), and BHG.
