Pregnant And Keeping It Fresh

ADVERTORIAL, PREGNANCY, SELF CARE | 10 comments

Sometimes when a friend announces her pregnancy, I can’t help but give obnoxious and very much unsolicited advice about anything baby and maternity. Well, scratch that. I’m always ready with recommendations and opinion, whether people ask for it or not. So keeping a blog is my version of getting it all out of my system, so I would annoy less friends in real life.

Sorry you’re the unlucky audience.

I DO have something important that I want to share with this post though.

Last week, I learn that washing our va-jay-jay with soap or water only, is actually bad for us. Yes, I do mean our nether region, the part where baby comes out. Let’s just call it ‘V’ from now on, just so we are all clear.

Where was I? Oh! Our V has a productive layer which is slighly acidic. This is to protect our reproduction organ from nasty bacteria and guard against odour. Washing with water and soap upsets the pH level and that’s how irritation and bad odour can happen.

Bet you didn’t know that, did you? I didn’t know either. Apparently only 4 out of 10 women in Singapore use feminine wash dedicated for the V. Considering that we use specific product for different parts of our bodies like facial wash for our face and shampoo for our hair, it makes sense that we should be using a specialised wash for our V too.

My new daily regime

I’ve used Lactacyd All-Day Fresh feminine wash every day for the past two weeks and needless to say, it kept me feeling fresh all day. Pardon my lack of synonyms for the word fresh but really, I was surprised to find that I feel clean and comfortable even after a looooong day.

As a pregnant mum of 2 little ones who runs her own business, busy is an understatement. From sending and picking Lauren up from school to back-to-back meetings, getting grocery, running errands and supervising client’s projects, I’m on the run in our humid weather all day.

I would love to shower every 2 hours. But since it is out of the question for me, I’m glad that Lactacyd sent me their line of feminine wash to check out. Good to know there’s a product that can keep my ahem, genital area pH balanced, healthy and clean even when I don’t have time to freshen up! I can’t imagine not using it everyday from now on.

Using the product couldn’t be easier. Pour a small amount on the palm, wash your V and rinse thoroughly. Try it and let me know if you’re not hooked on the fresh feeling afterwards.

Lactacyd Feminine Wash and Wipes

Besides All-Day Fresh with its extra herbal essences, Lactacyd feminine wash – formulated with natural milk essences has another 5 variants – White Intimate, Revitalize, Soft & Silky, Cool & Fresh and Feminine Hygiene – with various benefits and caters to different occasions. It also comes in the form of feminine care wipes, which I think is great for travel.

  • Lactacyd White Intimate has whitening benefits that helps skin darkening due to tight pants/ pantyhose. Skin around the V will get fairer within 4 weeks*.
  • Lactacyd Revitalize has firming benefits that is specially formulated with Vitamin E and Collagen to help skin suppleness.
  • Lactacyd Soft & Silky has 10% extra milk moisture to help keep skin around the V smoother. Especially after shaving/waxing (grooming).
  • Lactacyd Cool & Fresh with its menthol essences to keep your V feeling cool after a workout.
  • Lactacyd Feminine Hygiene is the most basic variant that is safe to use during menstruation or pregnancy.
Another variant that I’m using at the moment is Lactacyd Feminine Hygiene. If you’re currently pregnant or have been preggars, you would know that pregnant women have a lot of discharge. Wearing a panty liner doesn’t really help. Since I’m already in the too-much-info space right now, let me go on and say that we tend to sweat more in the V zone too. Can you imagine the ‘dampness’ and the amount of bad bacteria breeding down there?

When a woman is pregnant, the pH in her V tends to fluctuate even more due to hormonal changes. Feminine Hygiene has lower pH to help manage the changes, reduce discharge and irritation. Ask your gynaecologist, I’m sure they would recommend it.

  • Lactacyd All-Day Care Wipes to keep you accompany all day when you’re out and about.

It’s hard to explain how fresh I feel (sorry, I say fresh again!) after the use of Lactacyd All-Day Fresh, but you really have to experience it for yourself.

Let’s us take a step towards healthier feminine hygiene!
