How To Raise A Healthy and Happy Child

MOTHERHOOD

the chill mom

When you ask any parent what exactly they want for their child, they will almost certainly tell you that they want them to be happy and healthy. However what makes your child happy, may not necessarily be what’s best for them, and as a parent, you will have to make their choices for them, until they are bigger. What’s true though is that the happier your kids are, then the more likely they are to be successful, now and as adults. So how do you raise a healthy and happy child?

You Need To Be Happy

These days, a lot of parents are pushing their kids harder and harder from a very young age. You may get other parents telling you that you need to find a Preschool near you today or wherever you reside. The reason may be a long waiting list and your kid might not get in. That could be true but do it because you want to – to have a peace of mind. And not because of peer pressure. There’s nothing wrong in holding your kids back at home a year or two. In order for your kid to be happy, you too need to be happy. How happy you are, directly affects how happy your kids are going to be.

Give Explanations

Relationships are a part of life and teaching your child how to relate to other people is a huge stepping stone that they need to learn. Many parents just tell their kids to stop fighting without explaining why they shouldn’t do it. You can begin, by explaining to them that being kind gets rewarded and if they are nice, then good things happen. Show them how being kind can make other people happy, and they will learn that a smile is rewarding enough. Praise Effort

Michelle Hon

We all want our kids to excel and try hard in everything that they do. However, some parents push too hard and end up making their kids very unhappy. It’s not healthy for young children to get stressed out. In fact, young children should not have stress in their lives at this young age, and telling them to study harder, achieve better results and be something they don’t want to be, can have a detrimental effect on their lives. It is important to praise any effort they make, even if it doesn’t result in a win.

The Bright Side

As our kids get older, they see the world for what it really is, and a dose of reality may affect them. They may begin to feel sad about how things are going, and how our fellow man treats each other. It’s important to always encourage your kids to look on the bright side and not to see the glass as half empty, but to see it as half full. An optimistic outlook on life will help them to succeed in school, have a longer life and have better relationships.

We all love our kids unconditionally and want them to be a useful contributing member of the society. And they will. You just have to trust them. Go easy on your kids, love them as much as you can and work on building a strong bond with them. Let them know you will be there for them no matter what and mean it. Soon they will grow up and be the happy individual you want them to be.
