When my dad whatsapp’ed me a photo of his newly bald head, I was shocked, and to be honest, unhappy. Yes, it’s his hair and it’s a long time coming. He has been losing hair for the past 10 years and had been carefully growing a long fringe which he would carefully comb backwards to cover the bald patch but who was he kidding. Going bald is probably very liberating and I should be happy for him.

But I wasn’t. It’s a sign that my dad is growing old and in a selfish way, I’m worried about hereditary hair loss. I have fine, limp hair and having gone through postnatal hair loss (3 times!) and leading a stressful lifestyle makes the matter worse.

After a thorough scalp scan and analysis, it was determined that I needed the Hair Thinning Control Programme. I was then ushered into the private and cosy (away from other shoppers’ view) for my first application of the MIRACLE STEM CELL SOLUTION. Weekly application at the stores ensures optimal absorption into scalp.

Everything is sanitised before use here – even the combs they use at the start of the programme. The hair combing for was to promote scalp blood circulation. I never realised hair combing can be so therapeutic.

Next, is what they call Hair Follicle Balancing to prepare the scalp for treatment. My hair follicles were cleansed section by section using this massive cotton bud looking applicator to remove excess oil and balance pH levels.

A relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage followed. I didn’t want the hair therapist to move on to the next step but alas, we were there to rescue my hair thinning problem, so out came the Oxy Jet Spray. To be honest, this step is just as pleasurable, I had blasts of cool oxygen on my scalp to improve blood circulation and activate cellular activities, and it is anti-inflammatory.

Side note: We want the pores on our face to be exfoliated from dead skin cells. Similarly, when it comes to our hair follicles (which really are pores on our head), we want it unclogged from dirt and dead skin cells too, so that our scalp can absorb nutrients from hair care better and pave the way for healthier hair growth!

This was the most important step of the whole process, the solution application.

Nope, no injection or anything painful like that. This method of transferring the solution into the spray prevents unnecessary oxidation of the nano serum. This stuff is precious! The therapist applied the solution onto my entire scalp, paying special attention (meaning: spray more!) around my hairline and crown area because that’s where my hair doesn’t seem to grow as healthily. This step is to be infused with oxygen for a more effective follicle activation.

Hang on! The treatment doesn’t end here. Next, I had the Hyperbaric Oxy Infusion to infuse 95% pure oxygen and the solution into deeper layers of the scalp where my hair bulb resides. My hair was then nicely blown and a soothing gel was applied for parts of my scalp where there are showing signs of sensitivity (redness). I may have scratched it – who knew? But I’m glad it’s treated 😀

My scalp felt mildly cool, fresh and I can’t believe I’m saying this.. invigorated! I mean you really have to try it to experience it! The entire in-store treatment took all of 45 minutes but I spent over an hour, asking the knowledgeable consultant lots and lots of questions. I digress. The short treatment time is awesome for busy mums like me. I mean I’d love to spend hours on hair treatments but it’s a luxury I don’t have, having to juggle work and family. About an hour weekly for my crowning glory? Totally doable.

At the end of the treatment, I was also recommended home care products for daily use. Two shampoos (did you know you have to double wash your hair at the end of the day to get a proper cleanse?) and a 30-Day Home Care Hair Thickening Activator for my fine and limp hair.
